The Gang

I sometimes place older puppies or adults as pets.  If an older puppy or adult is available, that will be noted at the top of this page and under the dog's name below.

Naamah and Leda may be available to pet homes. Read about these dogs below.

All older puppies / young adults are used to living as pets and well trained. Not just housetrained (though they are all completely housetrained), but really trained; most of the adults have one or more obedience titles.  All come, like my puppies, with health guarantees.

Here's the full Anara Gang (plus some prior members of the Gang):

Pippa earned eight obedience titles competing in regular obedience and rally obedience. She was, of course, always the most glamorous dog in the ring, but retired from showing when she went completely deaf.

Pippa ruled the household until July 27, 2021.

She never had a significant heart murmur. She took a big chunk of my heart with her with her when she passed away at fifteen years ten months.

Adora -- My beautiful ruby girl.  Six performance titles, and quite a few championship points to boot.  She always showed beautifully, though her two natural gaits when she was younger were the bounce and the twirl.

Adora passed away January 29, 2022. It never gets easier. She was fourteen years eight months.

AKC Ch Roycroft Kenya Camaroon --  A very pretty little girl with wonderful parents, Kenya completed her AKC and International Championships and her first two Rally titles before retiring from the show ring.

Kenya has not had much success in the whelping box, producing just three living puppies total in four litters.  She is now spayed and retired. She never much cared for showing, so she is enjoying a life of lying on velvet cushions eating bonbons.

Kenya is twelve and a half and not yet showing any particular signs of age.

Eve -- Look at that topline!  Look at that rear!  Her front is fabulous, too, and, as you'd expect, so is her movement.  Plus she obviously has tons of bone.  Eve is a daughter of Bree, Adora's half-sister, who had one litter.  Eve turned out to be is a fantastic youngster.  She is shown here at 7 months old.

Update:  In just about her first time out, Eve won Best of Breed over Ch. Orchard Hill Tough Enough JW.  Way to go, Eve!

Eve has also finished off Novice and Advanced Rally titles, finishing the second title the same day she won BOB in the conformation ring.  She's smart as a whip.

Eve has gone to a pet home,  but she did pick up her International Championship.  I'm leaving her picture here because she is a great example of excellent structure.

Giedre, Kenya's older daughter, is ten years old. She really seems to have taken after her father, Ch Jayba Pucker Up JW -- she is a stocky, solid girl.

Giedre has perfect proportions, great bone, great angulation, good movement -- basically the whole package except for also having a slight underbite.  Giedre is Ishmael's mother.

Honey, Kenya's younger daughter, shown here at four years.  Honey, true to her name, is exceptionally sweet even for a Cavalier; an easy and delightful pet as well as fun to show.

Honey, AKC Ch Anara Honeysuckle Rose RN RA, won three  majors out of the puppy classes, then had to pick up those annoying single points. She has a couple of cosmetic flaws -- a white sclera in one eye, and obviously that kiss mark on her nose -- but she finished so easily because of her extremely good structure and movement.

Honey never took a decent win photo, but she is the best-structured of all my girls. She fulfilled my hopes giving me two litters of very nice puppies, all with pretty heads as well as good structure. Because she did have enormous trouble with premature labor, I then spayed her and placed her in a wonderful home.

Ishmael.  Giedre's little son, Ish, grew into a beautiful dog with a lovely head and a body to match. His bite was off just a little until he turned five. He also has the sweetest, most accommodating, most easy-going temperament of just about any dog. I've ever bred. He is super-easy to train and show and has his Rally Novice, Advanced, and Excellent titles.

In 2022, Ishmael is

--heart clear at eight

--clear for eyes

--has OFA fair hips

--was MRIed at age five and is clear for SM

--has a stunning pedigree -- click on his name above

--has an ideal temperament

Ishmael is available to approved bitches with current heart clearances.

Chloe. This is Fox Creek Demeter, daughter of CKCSC Ch Chantismere Chandos of Valentyne, JW and Kinvaar La Esperanto.

Chloe has exceptional structure and movement and beautiful eyes. Her short coat is easy to care for but not great in the show ring. Chloe turned out not to conceive easily and only one breeding ever took, yielding one delightful puppy. Given the difficulty of breeding her, it seemed fair to place her out into a pet home while she was still young.

Chloe now lives with a wonderful girl and her family. I'm leaving her picture here because her daughter is shown below.

Conner and Kimmie. From Honey's first litter, born early in January 2017, these youngsters are more formally known as Anara Konstantine and Anara Kimberlyn Rose.

Here they're shown as puppies, after Kimmie won her first point by taking Best of Opposite Sex over two grand champion girls (!) and then Conner won his first point by taking Best of Winners over Kimmie.

Kimmie took the Winners points in her first nine straight shows, but Covid-19 slammed her showing career to a halt. Worse, my vet was forced to tell me that her reproductive career should not continue; her one puppy showed that she probably cannot safely carry a litter to term.

These two are four and a half years old.

I still hope to resume showing Conner, who needs one more major win to complete his championship.

Kimmie moved to an excellent pet home in 2021.

I bred Leda one more time in 2023.

Another daughter of Honey's, nine months younger than the pair above. Leda is five years old. She is a sweet, small, feminine Cavalier.

Leda is low drive, affectionate, gentle, and prefers people to other dogs although she does get along with outher dogs as well. She would rather play fetch with you down a hallway than wrestle with another dog. She would let another dog bully her, so she is not right for a home with a dog that might take advantage of her extremely gentle nature.

Anara Lavender Rose, Leda, did not show until her bite corrected at about a year old. Then she immediately won a major from the 12-18 month puppy class. Now she has both majors and just needs to whittle off a few singles to finish her championship. If Covid hadn't put a stop to showing, she would definitely have been a champion long since.

Anara Morgan Le Fey

This delightful black-and-tan girl is Morgan, Kimmie's sole puppy by the handsome GCh Snowbird Wicked Good Wizard. She is comfortable with absolutely everything and believes the world was created specifically for her to enjoy it.

Morgan had just started showing in puppy classes when Covid-19 shut down shows for the year. She has hardly been shown at all. In the future, she should shine in obedience, as she is a very intelligent youngster who isn't a bit fazed by anything. The single word that best describes Morgan is "thoughtful."

Anara Nimue Du Lac

Naamah had pyometra in 2022 and had to be spayed. She is three years old. She is available to the right home.

Naamah, Chloe's daughter by Conner, born two days after Morgan. These two youngsters are full cousins and, as they were both single puppies, grew up like littermates. But in personality, they are as different as night and day.

Don't be fooled by that winsome look. The single word that best describes Naamah is "intense."

Naamah has outstanding structure and a pretty head. She is lovely and strikes poses as easily as breathing, but she is also exciteable and high drive.

Naamah likes her own people better than most strangers. She gets along with other dogs, but only after a warm-up period -- she's excited and barky when she first meets another dog. It takes her about 24 hours to accept a new dog. But she loves baby puppies and kittens and would probably love a baby human just as much. She's a wonderful babysitter for any tiny puppies, very gentle, completely trustworthy, knows exactly how to play with them.

She's very affectionate and quite demanding. She wants a lot of attention. She wants you to throw a toy down the hall for her, not just once, but over and over. She wants to go for walks -- long ones! If you wanted to hike all day, she'd be up for that, as long as it wasn't too hot.
